6-Team Single Elimination Bracket

A free, printable, fillable 6-team single elimination bracket with seeds already placed. Because 6 isn't a power of two, the bracket is built on 8 slots: 2 byes go to the top 2 seeds (seeds #1–#2), who skip straight to the Semifinals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many games are in a 6-team single elimination bracket?

5 games. Every game eliminates exactly one team, and all but one team (the champion) must be eliminated, so a 6-team single elimination tournament always takes 6 − 1 = 5 games.

How many rounds does a 6-team bracket have?

3 rounds: Quarterfinals (2 games), Semifinals (2 games), Championship (1 game).

How many byes are in a 6-team bracket?

2. The next power of two above 6 is 8, so 8 − 6 = 2 slots are byes. In a seeded bracket the byes go to the highest seeds: seeds #1–#2.

Who plays who in the first round of a seeded 6-team bracket?

#3 vs #6, #4 vs #5. Seeds are paired so the top seed faces the lowest remaining seed, which keeps the #1 and #2 seeds on opposite sides until the final.

Can I fill in the bracket on my computer?

Yes. The PDF has fillable fields for every team slot. Open it in Chrome, Edge, Adobe Acrobat or Apple Preview, click a box and type the team name (press Tab to jump to the next slot), then print or save.
