How the Bracket Works
01. Round 1 Opening Draw
Teams are seeded into Round 1 matches based on national rank or randomized draw. Winners advance along the Championship Path; defeated teams route to the Consolation Drop track.
02. Consolation Flight Drops
Teams losing in Round 2 drop down to face Round 1 drop winners. Our smart routing algorithm balances home/away status and prevents early rematches whenever possible.
03. Championship & 3rd Place Finals
Undefeated teams battle for the Championship Trophy with optional "If-Necessary" finals deciders, while consolation finalists compete for placement medals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 3-Game Guarantee (3GG) tournament bracket?
A 3-Game Guarantee (3GG) tournament ensures that every entering team plays at least three games before being eliminated. Unlike single-elimination (where a loss knocks you out) or standard double-elimination (where two losses eliminate you), a 3GG format routes 0-2 teams into an additional placement or consolation match.
Why do tournament directors prefer 3GG brackets?
Travel teams invest heavily in travel, hotel rooms, and entry fees. A 3GG format gives coaches and families peace of mind that even if they have an unlucky start, their team gets guaranteed playing time, competitive matchups, and at least three full games over the weekend.
Can I schedule a 3GG tournament across multiple courts or fields?
Yes! TourneyScheduler automatically allocates games across 2, 4, 8, or more courts or fields, while strictly respecting your facility window hours, game duration, and team rest intervals.
Is TourneyScheduler 3GG bracket generator free to use?
Yes! You can create, schedule, customize, and share 3GG tournament brackets for up to 8 teams 100% free with no credit card required.
